New York, NY – August 1, 2022 – Campside Media, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment’s Global Podcast Division, today premiered a new season of the acclaimed investigative podcast series Chameleon with the debut of Chameleon: Scam Likely. This season follows an investigation into what was one of the biggest call center scams ever: more than 300 million dollars was stolen from Americans, and the tens of thousands of victims included people from all walks of life—white-collar and blue-collar workers, the wealthy and the poor, young mothers and elderly grandfathers. Subscribers can listen to all episodes, all at once on The Binge, beginning today.
Hosted by investigative journalist Yudhijit Bhattacharjee, Scam Likely chronicles the story of a small team of government investigators as they unravel a plot that stretches from strip malls in suburban Texas to drab office towers in one of the largest cities in India and hunt down the shadowy multinational mob behind the scam calls.
Bhattacharjee said, “We spoke to victims and prosecutors and investigators across the United States and traveled to India to find the still at-large fugitives at the heart of this story. No other show to date has dived this deep into the intricacies of telefraud. It’s an incredible tale that will keep listeners on the edge of their seats and we’re excited to take them along on a thrilling ride.”
The first three seasons of Chameleon have captivated fans around the world, climbing the podcast charts and garnering global attention.
Chameleon: Scam Likely is produced by Eric Benson and Johnny Kauffman at Campside Media.
