New York, NY – October 1, 2024 – Sony Music Entertainment and Emmy Award- winning and Academy Award nominated storyteller Marc Smerling’s Truth Media today announced the season premiere of Denise Didn’t Come Home, a new podcast that investigates the story behind a small town murder that left one family yearning for answers for decades. The first episode is available now, and subscribers to The Binge can listen to all episodes now.

Hosted by New Jersey native Anthony Scalia, Denise Didn’t Come Home transports listeners to a story set just outside of New York City in Bergen County, New Jersey, a safe and serene community where people move to raise their families. That is, until one day in 1969 when a young girl’s body is found strangled in the brush along the roadside.  A crime that remains unsolved to this day.

Denise Didn’t Come Home offers first time access to never before heard interviews with family members of the victim and law enforcement investigating the case, as Scalia begins a personal journey to find out how this violent murder could have happened in his community and who is responsible for this crime. In partnership with the victim’s sister, Karen Falasca, who claims to have been the last person to see her sister alive, Scalia eventually uncovers the truth of a cold case that’s haunted local law enforcement for decades.

“I was fresh out of college when I heard about the 1969 murder of Denise Falasca, which happened close to my hometown. I had no formal training or investigative skills but I reached out to her sister Karen because somehow, I wanted to help. I had no idea how far our partnership would take us. Not only would we get the answers to all of Karen’s questions, I would also be able to provide Denise’s family and friends with the peace that they so desperately needed for nearly 50 years.”

Denise Didn’t Come Home is produced by truth.media in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment. The season is hosted by Anthony Scalia. Marc Smerling is the show’s editor and Executive Producer at truth.media.  Jonathan Hirsch and Catherine Saint Louis are the executive producers for Sony Music Entertainment.

Listeners can subscribe to Denise Didn’t Come Home on The Binge today to listen to all episodes, all at once.
